Record of Absences during Remote Learning
Please ensure your child has signed in each day before 10.00a.m using the link on their Remote Learning Schedule. Once signed in, your child/ren will be marked on the school rolls as a "Present" attendance by the school office.
The expectation is if students sign in they are completing work.
If your child does not sign in they will be marked on the Roll as "Absent".
If your child cannot engage in remote learning for the day due to illness or for another reason, please contact the school office via email at info@spxudow.catholic.edu.au or phone 42713550 so the appropriate notation can be made in Compass by office staff.
Once again we sincerely thank parents for their support in keeping their children at home, unless it is essential that they are at school.
Students on Zoom
This week, teachers across Kindergarten to Year Six began using Zoom with students. The purpose of using Zoom is to allow students to connect with their teachers and each other and an opportunity to seek clarification and ask questions about their learning tasks.
I was able to spend some time in these Zooms this week and was amazed with how well students accessed the platform, their respect for our Zoom protocols, and their excitement in seeing one another and their teachers. Congratulations to all of our students, patient parents and their wonderful teachers in ensuring successful zoom experiences!
Year 5 Canberra Excursion
The Year 5 Canberra overnight excursion scheduled for Week 5 has been postponed this to 25th and 26th November 2021. Further information will be provided to Year 5 parents as the dates draw closer.
Staffing of The School During Remote Learning
St Pius X staff, like any workplace are required to follow the strict COVID safe practices whilst on the school site during this critical lockdown period. This includes the wearing of masks and physical distancing.
In addition, staff will be operating on a rotational roster. This means that not all teachers will be on-site each day however the school will operate with adequate staff for on-site supervision. Teachers will also be working remotely throughout the week. School staff who display any ‘flu like symptoms must also follow the COVID safe practice of not coming to work.
