RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS

CEDoW Christmas Story Art Competition Update
We have some VERY EXCITING news to share with the community this week. We have been advised that the 6 entries that we had put forward to represent our school at the CEDoW Christmas Story Art Competition for 2021 have ALL been shortlisted to enter the next level of the competition. Only the top 39 artworks from across the diocese were chosen from the artworks entered into the competition to be a part of a Virtual Exhibition which is to be held on November 27th. Those chosen were works that were judged to best respond to the criteria and were exemplary of Stage 3 reflective writing and artistic skills. We are SO beyond thrilled for our Year 5 and Year 6 students who have created outstanding pieces for the competition. We wish Molly, Oliva, John, Rose, Nadia and Sophia the very best of luck as their works enter the next stage of the competition. You can view the artworks above.
Sacrament of Confirmation 2021 - TryBooking Links

On Friday 5th November parents of Year 6 students making their Sacrament of Confirmation this term will receive a letter which will have the TryBooking links embedded. PLEASE ENSURE you look out for this Compass notification as the TryBooking system will open on SATURDAY 6 November at 9.00 am and close on FRIDAY 10 December 9.00 am. Parents will need to book a place for participation in BOTH the RETREAT day and preferred Confirmation Ceremony date.
Crazy Sock Day
This year the St Pius X school community will be having a CRAZY SOCK DAY on Wednesday 17th November. Students are invited to wear their CRAZIEST socks and bring along any coins they can spare as an optional donation to support the essential work of Catholic Mission in Bangkok, Thailand, as they reach out to support vulnerable children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
