Rapid Antigen Test Program (RAT):
In line with recent announcements from the NSW Government, the rapid antigen test (RAT) program will end on Friday 25 February 2022. This means that the twice weekly testing using RAT kits is no longer in place. Thank you for your patience and cooperation over the last four weeks. While it has been a—sometimes unwelcome—addition to the already busy morning routine, proactive testing has been a critical tool in keeping our school community safe, especially while case numbers remained high in the broader community.
For the remainder of Term 1, families are asked to use RATs at your discretion when you consider it necessary (e.g. if a child develops symptoms or a family member is unwell). A further eight RATs are now available for collection from the office.
Kindergarten 2023 Enrolments
Enrolments for Kindergarten 2023 are now open. Enrolment packs will be available to download from our school website or for collection from the office. Please spread the word about our wonderful school.
Birthdays
It is so lovely to acknowledge our birthdays. If your child would like to bring in a treat to celebrate their special day, can we kindly ask that treats are individualised and wrapped e.g. lollipops.
COUNSELLING
A CatholicCare school counsellor is available to work with parents and students to support their social and emotional wellbeing. Our CatholicCare counsellor provides a range of support, including individual sessions with students and or parents, consultation and support to school staff, and the delivery of group work programs for small groups and classes.

Sport News
Swimming Trials
We had our Swimming Carnival on Thursday 17 February at Western Suburbs Pool, and with almost 50 students nominating to swim, we had a very full schedule.
The morning started off with a lovely surprise in the form of Olympian Emma McKeon finishing off some swim training before we started! Some lucky students even got to have a photo with her.
All the students tried their very best, with lots of smiles and support for each other. Our Yr 6 students were amazing leaders for the day, showing us all how to be excellent supporters for everyone, demonstrating great sportsmanship and leading by example with their behaviour.
CONGRATULATIONS to all our place getters, and to our Age Champions for the year. It was wonderful to see some very talented swimmers display their abilities.
Green House came away with the win for the swimming carnival, however it was a very tight contest with Red.
We look forward to presenting all the 1st, 2nd and 3rd ribbons, Age Champion medals and winning House Trophy in the coming weeks.
Also a HUGE thank you to the staff and parent volunteers who made the day possible, without them, the carnival would not happen!
Presentation of ribbons and Age Champions for our school Swimming Carnival will take place on Thursday 10 March at 2:30pm.
The presentation will be held under the COLA, and parents/carers are welcome to attend.
Mackillop Basketball Trials
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to ADDISON B - 6R for her selection in the MACKILLOP BASKETBALL TEAM.
A very successful trial last Friday 25 February, with plenty of opportunity for students to display their talent. There were only 5 Wollongong students selected in the MacKillop basketball teams, with our very own St Pius X student Addison B being selected in the Girl's team.
