SCHOOL NEWS
The vision of St Pius X Catholic Parish Primary School is to be a faith-filled, contemporary learning community that is inclusive and respectful of all. We foster the education and growth of the whole person through academic excellence, genuine relationships, authentically living the Gospel and incorporating the traditions of our past and the value of their contributions to our future.
Staff and Student Absences
Due to the current climate and isolation rules we are continuing to see an increase in staff and student absences. Our key priority is to ensure continuity of learning and preferably keeping the class group together. This may mean, at times your child will have a different teacher. In this instance the classroom routine and program is followed. During such challenging times we appreciate your support.
Vegetable Week & The BIG Vegie Crunch
Did you know only 5% of NSW children eat enough vegetables? Our school is on a mission to change this statistic, by encouraging munch and crunch everyday and to get kids excited about vegetables!
Vegetable Week, featuring the fun event ‘The Big Vegie Crunch’, is an upcoming school-based event for NSW primary schools. This exciting event will be held at our school in Week 10 on Tuesday the 29th of March 2022. Students are invited to bring in an empty munch and crunch container on the day where they will be given some fruit and vegetables donated by Unanderra Woolworths and served by Year 6 students.
In the lead up to this event, we are inviting students to submit their best vegetable/fruit jokes into the ‘Veg-citing Joke Competition’. Students write their name, class and joke on a piece of paper and hand into their classroom teacher during Week 9.
Year 6 have organised a gift box from Country Grocer to raise money for Project Compassion. Raffle tickets are available for 50 cents each. This will be drawn on Tuesday 29th March.
