Holy Week Virtual Liturgy

Our whole school community collaborated to create a schoolwide virtual Remembrance of Holy Week liturgy which all classes viewed on Thursday. As Holy Week falls within the school holidays we felt it was important to commemorate the key elements of the passion story while all students were still together prior to the student vacation period. A big THANKS to all teachers and students for their work on this at what is a very busy time of the term. Below you will find some screenshots of the liturgy from Years 4, 5 and 6.

Holy Communion 2021 Cohort

On Wednesday 30^th March students of Year 4 made their Sacrament of Holy Communion. This was a long time coming as their original sacramental dates were hindered by COVID last year.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the students on making this most special sacrament and send warm thanks and gratitude to both Fr Duane and Sr Kerry for their support and preparation of these students and families along their journey.

Confirmation 2022 Parent Meeting Term 2

Requirements: Children must be in Year 6 or above, must have been Baptised in a Catholic Church. We will require a copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate.

Parents are required to attend a Parent Information Night including faith formation and practical information about the Sacrament/s - highlighting the dates of lessons, retreat days and sacramental ceremonies for the preparation and celebration of the Sacrament. Parents can attend the Parent Information Night at either West Wollongong or Unanderra, regardless of where your child will receive the Sacraments.

It is essential for one parent/guardian to attend the Parent Information Night if you wish for your child to receive that Sacrament this year. At least ONE parent is required to attend, children do not need to be present for the Parent Information Nights.

Please bring your child’s Baptisimal Certificate (and/ or photocopy) with you on the night. There is also a small donation of $10 for Confirmation to cover the costs associated with the Sacrament. This can be donated electronically, on the tap device at the door as you enter the Church on the night.

Sacrament of Reconciliation - Reminder

Students of St Pius X who have registered to make their First Reconciliation this year will make this sacrament in Term 2. Students will be prepared by their classroom teachers within their Religious Education lessons in class. A Trybooking link will be sent out to all registered students mid way through Term 2 to secure a preferred session.

Project Compassion Final Result

We are so very proud to announce that as a whole school community St Pius X will be sending approximately $845.00 to Caritas Australia to support the 2022 Project Compassion Fundraising initiative. The class who has raised the most money for Project Compassion throughout the season of Lent is 4B with $142.00.

CONGRATULATIONS 4B this means that the students of this class will celebrate their wonderful giving with a class movie and snacks!

Thank you for the speedy return of the Mother’s Day Celebration RSVP slips. If you have not sent your RSVP back to school (one per family) could you please send through your attendance ability via email to info@spxudow.catholic.edu.au outlining the number of adults to attend.
