At St Pius X, we continue to promote student attendance. Thank you to our parents for the support and value that you place on your child being at school each day especially as we acknowledge the current 'Cold and Flu' season.

Now more than ever regular school attendance plays a critical role in ensuring that every student has the opportunities to succeed in later life. Attending school every day makes learning easier for your child and helps children to build and maintain friendships with other children. When students are not at school, are late to school or leave school early, they are missing out on so much that can impact on their future learning.

From an early age, if children are taught that they need to 'show up' for school and make a commitment, this positively aids academic and career success and brings benefits in adulthood. 

Every minute of every day counts and families may not be aware of just how much time is lost when a child misses minutes or days here and there from school. The statistics below may be a surprise and food for thought.
