COVID-19 update and continued COVID-smart measures
NSW Health recently advised that we are already starting to see a rise in COVID-19 transmissions within the community, with a peak of cases expected in early December.
COVID-smart measures continue to be in place at St Pius X and are vital in allowing us to keep our school operational while prioritising student and staff wellbeing
Rapid antigen tests (RATs)
Please continue to test ,whenever your child is showing symptoms or has been exposed to COVID-19.
With the expected spike in COVID-19 cases in the community early next month a supply of RAT tests are now available at the office. Please pop in o collect.
SPORT NEWS
In Week 2 of this Term we had two students compete at the NSWPSSA Primary Athletics Championships at Sydney Olympic Park.
Tiffany T competed in the 11 Yr Girls Shot Put and placed a very impressive 10th with a throw of 9.82m. This means that Tiffany is the 10th best shot put athlete for 11 year old girls in all of NSW! Congratulations Tiffany, an outstanding effort.
Jacob L competed in the 10 Yr Boys Discus and achieved a highly commendable 23rd position, with a throw of 23.52m. Congratulations Jacob, an amazing achievement.
SPX is extremely proud of these athletes, it is quite the achievement to qualify for the Championships. We are looking forward to seeing what you can accomplish in the coming years! A very exciting athletics future for them both.
Sports Awards
Thank you to Mrs Sutton who attended the Sports Awards on Friday night.
Addison, Molly and Rocco represented SPX and have certainly achieved a lot in the area of Sport.
PE
This term students in Yr 2 - Yr 6 are being treated to 4 weeks of specialised Cricket coaching. Starting in Wk 5, through to Wk 8, Cricket NSW are running a program that incorporates all the skills required to play cricket and how to play the game.
Students can look forward to building on their skills and learning some new games as they progress through the 4 week program.
Welcome to our Kindergarten 2023 Students
This term we welcomed our Kindergarten 2023 students and their parents and carers to their playgroup sessions. This opportunity for transition to school has been disrupted over the last two years due to COVID 19 restrictions and we were pleased to be able to resume the eight sessions throughout the term.
We have had very excited Kindergarten 2023 students and their parents and carers, who have thoroughly enjoyed meeting new classmates and other parents and carers. We particularly welcome our newest parents to St Pius X and know you will enjoy the community and opportunity for your child to grow and learn in our rich and vibrant Catholic community. I would like to thank Mrs Kim Norrie and Mrs Clare Suartama for their organisation of the playgroup sessions.
