Arrival and Dismissal Concerns
Over the past few weeks we have had an increasing number of issues raised by
parents, residents and staff regarding near misses and unsafe parking and crossing
practices outside the Cummins Street office gate and the parking lot on the old
Wests Gym site. This is of great concern as the safety of our students is our number one priority.
We are currently in discussion with the police, Service NSW and
Western Suburbs leagues Club to look at changes that will minimise the risk to students, parents and other road users.
Please be alert and exercise the utmost caution at arrival and
dismissal times.

Parking Rangers

Council Rangers made one of their regular visits at school drop off yesterday.

A few tips for keeping children and others safe around our school.

Be aware of parking signage around the school

  • “The most common parking signs in school zones are 'No Stopping' and 'No Parking' signs.

No Stopping

A No stopping sign means that in the area in the direction of the arrow you must not stop your vehicle at any point on the road or kerb, unless there is a medical or other emergency.

No Parking

You must not stop for more than two minutes in a No Parking area. You must remain in or within 3 metres of the vehicle.

The practise of driving off gutters restricts traffic flow and creates danger for pedestrians and residents. We ask that you exit the car park via the designated exit and be mindful of parking people in.

If you are crossing Cummins Street please do so outside the school gate.

If you are utilising this No Parking area please get your child out at the kerb not out into the traffic.

Thank you to those parents who continually exercise the utmost care when accessing the school. Every child’s safety is everyone’s concern.
