Winter Uniform Changeover
The second-hand uniform shop is located in the school grounds and all items are $5. Stocks of Winter Uniforms are now available. Lowes at Figtree is also our official uniform supplier. Can we kindly ask as we transition from Summer to Winter Uniform that all children are wearing Winter uniforms by Monday 8th May (Week 3 Term Two)
Easter Hat Parade
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting an Easter Hat Parade at 10.15am on Wednesday 5th April 2022.
All children are encouraged to wear a decorated Easter hat or a sun-safe hat with Easter embellishments such as Bunny Ears for this event. Each year level will parade their hats and then we will follow with a picnic lunch.
Please do not feel you need to go to great expense, as bunny ears or an egg on top of the hat will suffice.
Parents / carers are welcome to attend this fantastic event and please feel free to bring a chair or picnic blanket to sit on to enjoy this occasion. We ask that do not attend if you are unwell or experiencing any cold and flu like symptoms.
We are looking forward to sharing these special occasion with many of you!

Staff Professional Development
Throughout this term staff have had several opportunities to collaborate and spend time working towards our Annual Improvement Plan Goal of “Teachers will have a shared understanding of the implementation of evidence- based quality assessment practices so that students are actively engaged and appropriately challenged”.
In order to get assessment right, teachers spent time discerning and unpacking the outcomes and language of the new K-2 Curriculum and the 2024 3-6 Curriculum for English and Mathematics. This occurred before unpacking the research around Quality assessment practices.
Staff Professional Development days are vital in keeping staff abreast of current research and support them to provide the best learning opportunities for students.
The Big Vegie Crunch
Our school participated in Vegetable Week & The Big Vegie Crunch.
Today, Thursday 30th March, we joined primary schools across NSW to break the record for the most students crunching vegetables:
50,260 students crunching simultaneously (2018 record)
So what happened?
SPX Students stopped work at 10am for a vegie break. We had an assortment of vegetable sticks to eat and for some students, try for the first time!
What can you do to keep your family crunching?
- Hold a family Big Vegie Crunch at the dinner table
- Be a role model and let your kids see you enjoying eating vegetables
- Remember to keep serving up the vegetables at home and in your children’s lunchboxes. Check out the UP THE VEG at Home resource for ideas
A BIG THANK YOU to WOOLWORTHS UNANDERRA for donating our VEGETABLES for this event.
