FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been a pleasure to welcome our Kindergarten 2024 students to a series of playgroup sessions over the past two weeks. It was wonderful to connect with the many new and existing families and hear the sense of welcome that they are feeling at St Pius X Unanderra.
In 2024 we will have two Kindergarten classes, with a third additional teacher and school support staff.
Kindergarten 2024 Staff
Mrs Leah Galea (Kindergarten Blue Teacher)
Mrs Kim Norrie (Kindergarten Red Teacher)
Mrs Joanne Stewart (Additional Kindergarten Teacher)
Ms Louise Sartor (Early Stage One Leader)
Kindergarten School Support Staff x 2 TBC
Please note all other staffing and classes for 2024 are currently being finalised and will be announced in the last week of term. I would like to assure parents that additional support is always provided in larger classes to ensure teacher / student ratios are adequate.
Last week students from Years One to Six participated in a series of Progressive Achievement Tests (PAT Tests). These multistage tests, provide personalised test pathways based on student responses, giving a more precise picture of student achievement in key areas of Mathematics and Reading . This is a valuable source of data, along with other information including student work samples, assessments and observations that can inform where the students are in their learning and next steps for teaching.
As we enter the month of November our Catholic community remembers those that have passed before us. The students acknowledged All Saints and All Souls Day this week with a whole school prayer and class activities.
For the eternal rest of those who have died, for the departed who worshipped the Lord here with us, and for those who died alone. Let us pray to the Lord: Lord, hear our prayer. For those who have lost someone they loved, for those who were unable to say goodbye, and for those who are suffering the pain of grief.
Yours Sincerely,
Pauline Chrostowski - Principal
