FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to offer my congratulations to those children who received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion last Saturday. Father Duane, Sr Kerry and Ms Louise Sartor led the children in two beautiful and moving ceremonies. The children were so well prepared and reverent in their responses. I would also like to acknowledge Ms Anna Jaklic and Mrs Kylie Hertsch who also assisted in ensuring the children were prepared for this important day. Father Duane spoke about the sacraments being like a giant hug, i.e. a symbol of love.
On Monday I farewelled our Year 6 students and staff for their two night camp at “The Tops” Stanwell Park. The students participated in a variety of team building and leadership activities over the two days, including orienteering, abseiling, campfire and the giant swing. I am so grateful to the staff that gave so freely of their time to support the children over the two days. A big thank you to; Mrs Jeanette Starcic, Mrs Steffane Ceccato, Ms Louise Sartor, Mrs Karen Harley, Mr Andrew Hales, Mrs Yvonne Newton and Mr Bill Whittle.
Staff are now in the process of finalising Semester Two Reports. I am so pleased with the way the classrooms are settled and with the data that is demonstrating student growth in their learning. I encourage you, when receiving your child’s report to particularly focus on the effort section, as this speaks about your child’s application to their learning. It is also important to note that if a child received a “C” in Semester One and a “C” in Semester Two, they have in fact maintained growth as the work increases in complexity.
I look forward to our Parish Dinner this Friday at 7pm at Figtree Bowling Club.
All welcome.
Yours Sincerely,
Pauline Chrostowski - Principal
