Keeping eSafety in Mind
Many children enjoy using the internet for games and socialising. As adults, we can help them stay safe online.
Parents and carers play an important role in helping children to develop digital intelligence—the social, emotional, and practical skills needed to successfully navigate the digital world.
The eSafety Commissioner has many helpful tools for parents and carers. Kids can sometimes face problems online, so it's important they know what to do if someone is being unkind to them or others.
Parents and carers can enhance online safety for children by engaging in open conversations and utilising resources like the eSafety Commissioner's free webinars. These webinars cover essential topics such as cyberbullying and privacy settings, equipping adults with the knowledge and tools to navigate the digital world alongside their children. By staying informed and proactive, parents can support their children in developing the necessary skills for safe and responsible internet use. Explore upcoming webinars at eSafety Webinars.
There are also great suggestions for establishing parental controls. Parental controls are software tools that allow you to monitor and limit what your child sees and does online.
Reminders from the Parent Handbook - Attendance
Importance of Regular Attendance and School Hours
Regular attendance is crucial for your child's educational success. Recent research highlights that consistent attendance correlates with better academic performance and social development. It is essential for students to arrive by 8:50am and join their class lines. The school gates open at 8:20am, with supervision until 3:30pm. Outside these hours, our Outside of School Hours (OOSH) service is available.
Please report absences via Compass and try to schedule holidays and appointments outside of school hours. Extended absences require an application for Principal approval. Attendance is monitored under the Education Act by the school and the Catholic Education Office.
