FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week the children were taken through the events of Holy Week and the significance of the days leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion. Today, on Holy Thursday the children reflected on The Last Supper. It was lovely to witness one of our primary students making a beautiful connection to their own First Holy Communion and the significance of the Eucharist in their life. It was also heart-warming to hear the younger children enter into dialogue about the sharing of meals with loved ones.
It was fitting on our final day of school for Term One that we were able to come together as a community for our annual Cross Country Carnival. Community events are important to us at St Pius X and in a time where restrictions are now a reality, they are even more appreciated. Thank you to all those parents who could join us for a wonderful day, in particular a big thank you to our parent volunteers and Mrs Carla Olima (Specialist Physical Education) teacher for her outstanding organisation of the day.
I wish all of our families and staff a special time at Easter and during the holiday period that follows. I look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday 19th April and thank you for your ongoing support of St Pius X Unanderra. We have a beautiful school community and the staff pride ourselves on the values we instil in the children and our continued effort to ensure growth in faith and learning for all.
Yours Sincerely,
Pauline Chrostowski - Principal
