THIRD PLACE WINNERS!!!!!!
Another huge thank you to Unanderra Allcott Hire and Scott and the team from A Class Building and Construction, for their time and efforts in helping to mount our beautiful artwork. The centrepiece to our Yarning Circle, created by Uncle Kev, looks amazing and we couldn’t have done it without you!

Lunch (10:50 am):
- Parents are warmly invited to join their children for a picnic lunch (BYO food).
- P&F refreshments stand will be available
- Year 6 will hold a 2nd hand book stall to raise money for the Year 6 gift to the school
Afternoon:
- Book Character Parade: Come dressed as your favourite character from a book! Don’t forget to bring a book with you.
- Book of the Year Awards: Celebrate with our traditional Trophy Dance.
We have recently updated the Parent Handbook to ensure it includes the optional girls summer uniform. We are also in the process of updating the website. Nothing else in the uniform policy has been changed.
As outlined in the policy, the royal blue jacket is only to be worn on cold days and when the school sloppy joe is already being worn. On sport days, students may wear the jacket without needing to wear the sloppy joe underneath, if they wish.
Thank you for your continued support. If you have any concers or questions, please come and speak with me.

From the Handbook:
UNIFORM
At St Pius X Catholic Primary School, students wear full school uniform at all times unless designated by the Principal.
A Uniform Shop, selling second hand items is in operation at the school and is located in the office building. Parents are encouraged to donate quality unwanted or unused clothing to the clothing pool. All items are $5 and payment is to be made via EFTPOS at the school office.
Classroom teachers monitor the wearing of uniform on a day-to-day basis and inappropriate dress will be brought to the attention of the student and parents. When necessary the Principal will speak to both the student and parents. If the uniform is not worn, a note from parents is required.

HAIR
Students are required to wear their hair in a neat and tidy manner. Haircuts should be of an even grade. Hair should be well brushed and combed and it is assumed that hair will not be in such a condition as to invite comment.
BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Extreme styles, bleaching, colouring or dyeing of hair are not permitted.
- Hair should not extend to cover the eyes.
- Students who do not abide by the haircut requirements will be asked to fix the identified problem.
- Hair below collar length is to be fully tied back.
- Ribbons, scrunchies and bands of school colour (red and blue) are to be worn.
JEWELLERY
Jewellery should be kept to a minimum – watches, chains and religious symbols are acceptable. No single piercing or more than two earrings to be worn. Sleepers and studs are the accepted earring style. Please note a child with a single piercing or more than two piercings will be given the option to insert a clear stud or remove the earring.
SHOES AND SOCKS
- Students are required to wear black shoes that can be polished (no canvas or runner style).
- Sports shoes should be supportive and not basketball style hightops.
- Sports socks must be white socks i.e. covering the ankle. ‘Sockettes’ are not appropriate for school wear.
ALL ITEMS OF UNIFORM SHOULD BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH THE CHILD’S NAME |
We would like to remind parents to clearly label student uniforms and if you mistakenly take an item home that is not yours can we kindly ask that you please return it to school given the cost of uniform items.
