Dear Parents and Caregivers of St Pius X,
This weekend we will celebrate the Feast of Pentecost, a very special time in our Church. Pentecost reminds us of the day the Holy Spirit came to the disciples, filling them with courage, joy and the power to share Jesus’ message with the world. It is often called the "Birthday of the Church" because it marks the beginning of the disciples' mission to spread the Good News.
For our students, Pentecost is a wonderful reminder that the Holy Spirit is with us too—helping us to be kind, to make good choices, and to use our gifts to care for others. As we reflect on this joyful feast, let us pray that our school community continues to grow in faith, love and unity, just like the first followers of Jesus.
This is also a very special time for some of our Year 6 students who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Wednesday night. We congratulate and celebrate each of them as they are strengthened by the Holy Spirit and continue their journey of faith. May they always feel the guidance and love of God in their hearts and be a shining light in our school and wider community.
Wishing you all a blessed week ahead.
Lord God,
We thank You for Pope Leo XIV.
Grant him wisdom, strength, and a loving heart
to guide Your Church in truth and unity.
Protect him, inspire him, and fill him with Your Spirit,
that he may serve as a faithful shepherd to Your people.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Lisa Tyson - Principal
A Wonderful Night at the Movies!
Last Friday’s Despicable Me 4 Movie Night was an incredible success and a beautiful celebration of our school community. It was wonderful to see so many families come together—children, parents, and carers—enjoying each other’s company under the stars.
Our playground was transformed for the evening, with fairy lights twinkling. The food, games, and stalls were a huge hit with the children, adding to the excitement and fun of the night.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing P & F for organising such a well-run and memorable event. Your commitment to building community and creating joyful moments for our families is truly appreciated.
We are so lucky to be part of such a vibrant and connected school community. Bring on the next one!
Assistant Principal Appraisal - A Note of Thanks
I’d like to sincerely thank all the parents and carers who have already taken the time to complete the Assistant Principal Appraisal survey, which was recently sent out by the Catholic Education Office.
This survey is part of a formal appraisal process that takes place every four years for Assistant Principals across the Diocese of Wollongong. It gathers feedback from staff, students, clergy, and families to support reflection, celebrate strengths, and identify areas for professional growth.
Your feedback is incredibly valuable to me, both personally and professionally, and I truly appreciate your support.
If you haven’t had the chance to complete the survey yet, the window will remain open until Friday, 13 June 2025.
Thank you again for your time and contribution.
Christine Nunes
Thank You for Your Feedback
A big thank you to all the parents and carers who took the time to complete the Tell Them From Me survey. Your feedback is incredibly valuable in helping us understand your perspectives and experiences, and it plays an important role in shaping our ongoing school improvement efforts.
The survey window has now closed, and we look forward to analysing the results in the coming weeks. We appreciate your partnership and continued support in making St Pius X a place where every student can thrive in faith, learning and wellbeing.
Congratulations to the St Pius X students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation this week at Immaculate Conception and St Therese parishes. These special celebrations were led by Bishop Brian Mascord, and we commend our students for taking this important step in their faith journey.
World Environment Day – Waste Free Wednesday Launch
