Dear Parents and Carers,
Our Parish Pentecost Gathering in the Hall was a wonderful success. Sarah Marsala (Mother of Chiara and Gabriella) spoke about the importance of connection between school and Parish. She highlighted the success of our last Parish Picnic and plans are now in the pipeline for a future event.
Community is important at St Pius X and I am so grateful for the support of the Parents and Friends in our many endeavours, as we work together to support the shared mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Wollongong. Our key purpose is creating a vibrant Catholic school community, where every student knows their true meaning and purpose. Here at St Pius X growth in faith for our students and improvement in learning are always at the heart of what we do
With this in mind, it has been an utmost pleasure to begin the process of reading and signing off on Semester One Student reports for Years One to Six. The teachers have spent a great deal of time compiling these reports and I have been pleased with the learning gains pupils have attained and also their identified areas for future growth. The behaviour and attitude of students in the classroom has also been a point for celebration. I encourage you to take time to sit with your child and read over their report. I always believe that the effort section is a good place to start. Kindergarten will be issued with a formal report at the end of the year, with opportunities for a half yearly interview. Please ensure you have booked your parent teacher interview on the Compass App.
Finally, it was wonderful to see the children snuggled up in their winter pyjamas for our Faith in Action Day. The hot chocolates and donuts were very popular and all proceeds support the good deeds and works of St Vincent De Paul.
Yours Sincerely,
Pauline Chrostowski - Principal

PJ DAY – FAITH IN ACTION
What an amazing site it was to see our amazing school community spending the day in their warm winter woolies on Tuesday 8th June. This annual faith in action initiative is a way in which we show support to the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal, more specifically offering assistance to our local Unanderra chapter. This year we were absolutely ASTOUNDED by the generosity demonstrated by our wonderful families in taking up the donut and hot chocolate deal – we are pleased to share with you that from the efforts today we will be presenting a WHOPPING $1108 to St Vincent de Paul Unanderra. A MASSIVE thank you to our very special parent helpers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to orchestrate the delivery of donuts and hot chocolate to all of our eagerly awaiting students. Well done to everyone and a BIG THANK YOU once again!
Please find attached the Canteen Roster for the remainder of 2021
We still require a few volunteers for Week FOUR each month if you are available.
