Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for your feedback in regard to remote learning. The emails and messages that we have received have certainly uplifted the spirts of the St Pius X staff. It has been lovely to witness the trust, understanding and compassion amongst the community, during a time in which we are being continually challenged and tested. Our students are safe, supported and are learning and this is thanks to the collective efforts of our parents, carers, grandparents and staff.
Please continue to ask any questions or seek clarification if you need assistance. The staff are here and ready to support you if required. In saying this I am mindful of the variety of challenges that our parents are facing, including managing toddlers, work anxiety and in some cases job loss. Please trust your instinct with your child’s learning and focus on the three teacher identified tasks and the core subjects of Religious Education, English and Mathematics.
Next week, as a Catholic community we acknowledge the Feast of Saint Mary of the Cross Mackillop, I would like to share one of my favourite quotes from Mary, which is certainly apt during this time.
“Find happiness in making others happy”
Go gently in the week ahead.
Yours Sincerely,
Pauline Chrostowski - Principal
NSW Health has recently reinforced the message to schools that parents and carers must keep their children home if they can. We understand how difficult it can be to manage working from home as well as supervising your child’s learning, however we are requesting your support to limit the risk of COVID-19 by having your child learn from home, rather than school, unless you have no other option.
Please be assured that students receive the same mode of learning, whether they are at school or at home. Of course, as always, the school will remain open for any child who is not able to learn from home.
Zoom Meetings
Each week during Remote Learning classes will have scheduled online Zoom meetings with their teacher. The purpose of these meetings is to allow students to connect face to face with their teacher and an opportunity for them to connect with their classmates. I am so proud of the way in which students are engaging in the Zooms.
Home Learning Photos
Thank you for sending in your photos, we love to see them!!

Students of St Pius X will mark this special feast day on Monday 9th August with a virtual liturgy and specifically set tasks through their online learning platform.
Mary MacKillop Prayer
God of the Pilgrim,
Mary MacKillop trusted your guidance in her journey of life
and deepened her confidence in your will.
May we renew our trust in your Providence
to lead us to hope as we bring our prayer before you.
May we grow in the fullness of your love and the depth of your mystery.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Way, our Truth and our Life.
Amen.
Dear Parishioners,
Please find attached this week’s bulletin.
God Bless,
Fr Duane Fernandez
