Confirmation 2022 Parent Meeting Term 2
Requirements: Children must be in Year 6 or above, must have been Baptised in a Catholic Church. We will require a copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate.
Parents are required to attend a Parent Information Night including faith formation and practical information about the Sacrament/s - highlighting the dates of lessons, retreat days and sacramental ceremonies for the preparation and celebration of the Sacrament. Parents can attend the Parent Information Night at either West Wollongong or Unanderra, regardless of where your child will receive the Sacraments.
It is essential for one parent/guardian to attend the Parent Information Night if you wish for your child to receive that Sacrament this year. At least ONE parent is required to attend, children do not need to be present for the Parent Information Nights.
Please bring your child’s Baptisimal Certificate (and/ or photocopy) with you on the night. There is also a small donation of $10 for Confirmation to cover the costs associated with the Sacrament. This can be donated electronically, on the tap device at the door as you enter the Church on the night.

We are so very proud to announce that as a whole school community St Pius X will be sending approximately $845.00 to Caritas Australia to support the 2022 Project Compassion Fundraising initiative. The class who has raised the most money for Project Compassion throughout the season of Lent is 4B with $142.00.
CONGRATULATIONS 4B this means that the students of this class will celebrate their wonderful giving with a class movie and snacks!
Mother's Day Celebration
Thank you for the speedy return of the Mother’s Day Celebration RSVP slips. If you have not sent your RSVP back to school (one per family) could you please send through your attendance ability via email to info@spxudow.catholic.edu.au outlining the number of adults to attend.
Exciting PB4L News
The students of St Pius X have many opportunities to be acknowledged for their behaviour, attitude and commitment to school life within our PB4L framework. Next term the PB4L team will be introducing an exciting new initiative to add to our list.
Beginning in Term 2 we will have a “House Token Reward” System for positive playground behaviour. This means that teachers will be on the lookout for children modeling exceptional playground behaviour such as including others in their games, using kind words, playing safely with equipment etc. Tokens will be handed out and students then place them into the “House Token boxes”. In Weeks 5 and 10 of each Term, we will count up the tokens. The winning house for those 5 weeks will get a special whole house colour reward!
Afternoon Dismissal change of procedures
Commencing Term 2 we will move back to our “normal” afternoon pre-COVID procedures. Please take note below where on the playground parents wait for their children. Remember to collect your youngest child first then any other children. Please be mindful that there are to be no children using the play equipment after school each afternoon in order to minimise the flow to dismissal and for the safety of all children.

Autism Awareness Day - Our inclusive garden.
Some days you can feel in your heart just how special our community is.
Last Friday was one of those days, when the staff and students of St Pius X celebrated "Autism Awareness Day". We dressed in multi colours to celebrate all the colours on the spectrum, learnt about Autism and worked together to create an inclusive garden. Together we celebrated our differences and all the things we have in common.
What a beautiful, heartfelt day we all had.
