Dear Parents and Carers,
As educators our staff value the important role of parents as integral members of the school community and partners in your child’s education.
This partnership was evident at our community welcome BBQ last Friday afternoon. Thank you to the two hundred plus parents that joined the staff and myself for an afternoon of fun and games. A special thank you to the Parents and Friends Executive who so capably led the BBQ and catering. Also, to Mrs Samantha Walker and her husband Alex, games extraordinares!
I look forward to welcoming our mothers, grandmothers and specal female role models to our breakfast this Friday morning. We have over one hundred and eighty RSVP’s and are looking forward to a morning of fun and laughter. The breakfast will commence at 8am in the School Hall, with an alfresco dining option too! Don’t forget to bring your gold coins for our raffle.

A Grade Newsletter has also been distributed to all parents this week.
With the above in mind, I will leave you with the words of Pope Francis
“We must renew the commitment to constructive collaboration for the benefits of children and young people”
It certainly takes a village to raise a child, and the children at St Pius X certainly benefit from adults working together in respectful partnerships.
Yours Sincerely,
Pauline Chrostowski - Principal

Reminder - Confirmation Parent Information Night
Requirements: Children must be in Year 6 or above, must have been Baptised in a Catholic Church. We will require a copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate.
Parents are required to attend a Parent Information Night including faith formation and practical information about the Sacrament/s - highlighting the dates of lessons, retreat days and sacramental ceremonies for the preparation and celebration of the Sacrament. Parents can attend the Parent Information Night at either West Wollongong or Unanderra, regardless of where your child will receive the Sacraments. It is essential for one parent/guardian to attend the Parent Information Night if you wish for your child to receive that Sacrament this year. At least ONE parent is required to attend, no children need to be present for the Parent Information Nights. Please bring your child’s Baptisimal Certificate (and/ or photocopy) with you on the night. There is also a small donation of $10 for Confirmation to cover the costs associated with the Sacrament. This can be donated electronically, on the tap device at the door as you enter the Church on the night.
